Shujaa means brave. It is also a plan.
Enterprises across Africa, the Middle East and Europe do not lack ambition for the cloud or for AI. What is scarce is validated AWS expertise delivered from within the region by teams that work inside local regulation. Shujaa.ai was formed to provide it.
Our story
A decade of AWS delivery, a new home in Nairobi.
Shujaa.ai began with a simple observation. The teams behind it had spent more than ten years building on AWS for customers across North America and Asia Pacific, earning nine AWS competencies and programs along the way, from the AWS AI Competency in agentic and generative AI to Migration and Modernization, Data & Analytics, DevOps and four industry competencies. Meanwhile, some of the fastest-growing enterprise markets in the world had very few partners with that depth on the ground.
So we built one. Shujaa.ai is a joint venture between Applify, Inc. and Cloud Shujaa Limited, headquartered in Nairobi and serving enterprises across Africa, the Middle East and Europe. The name is Swahili for brave, because moving a core system, putting an AI agent in front of customers, or telling a board the pilot should stop all take courage.
Today we serve financial services, telecom, healthcare, education, manufacturing, retail, the public sector, agriculture, energy and the startup ecosystem, with a global engineering bench of more than 200 people and 100+ AWS certifications.
How we work
Four commitments.
Brave
Shujaa means brave. We take on the migrations others call too regulated, the agents others leave in pilot, and the recommendation not to proceed when a project should not happen.
Validated
We let AWS check our work. Nine designations, each earned through reviewed customer deployments, and a Well-Architected review in every engagement.
Present
Nairobi is our headquarters, not a sales office. Our architects sit with your teams, in or near your time zone, under your regulators, wherever in Africa, the Middle East or Europe you operate.
Measured
Every engagement starts with the number we are trying to move and ends with a report on whether we moved it.
