What does our data protection law let us move?
Most enterprise data can be processed in the nearest AWS Region with appropriate safeguards. Specific categories vary by country: Kenya, for example, requires in-country processing or a local serving copy for civil registration, public finance, critical infrastructure and certain health and education data, while the UAE and Saudi Arabia have sector-specific residency rules. We classify your data against the applicable law before designing the target state.
Can an AWS program offset part of the migration cost?
It depends on the workloads, the phase and the projected AWS footprint. Our experts will assess eligibility during the discovery call and model any support in the business case so there are no surprises.
What about latency to the nearest AWS Region?
AWS Direct Connect locations, CloudFront points of presence and Local Zones cover most major cities in our regions, including Nairobi, Lagos, Dubai and Johannesburg. For workloads that are truly latency-bound or residency-bound, we design hybrid patterns with AWS Outposts or a local serving copy.
