Healthcare

Health systems that connect patients, providers and payers securely.

Health data in most of our markets is fragmented across paper, point solutions and legacy systems that never talk to each other. The opportunity is to build the connective tissue: interoperable records, pharmacy and insurance platforms, and AI that helps a stretched clinician without ever overstepping. Doing that within local data rules is the whole job.

What we hear

The pressures healthcare leaders describe to us.

  • Clinical, lab, pharmacy and claims systems with no shared patient identity
  • Insurers drowning in manual claims adjudication
  • Strict local processing rules for health records
  • Connectivity gaps at facilities outside major cities
  • AI expectations from boards and donors without clinical safety frameworks

Regulation and residency

Designed within the rules.

Many countries in our regions require in-country processing or a local serving copy for health records; Kenya does for primary and secondary health data, and the UAE and Saudi Arabia have their own health data rules. We design hybrid systems that satisfy those while using AWS for analytics, AI and resilience, and we document the data flows for your regulator and your clinical governance committee.

Questions

Common questions

Is AWS HealthLake available in Africa?

Service availability by region changes frequently. We confirm the current availability of each service in the AWS Africa (Cape Town) Region during design and choose architectures that satisfy residency rules either way.

We will share the relevant reference architecture, the compliance map for your country, and whether an AWS program could help offset the cost.
